1. Who we are
GTScope is a site that lists game servers, shows who plays on them and ranks them. The controller of your personal data is Administratorul GTScope. To write to us about your data, use the request form: it reaches us directly. A request about your data
2. What we keep, why, and for how long
Each kind of data, with the reason we keep it, the ground the law gives us for it, how long we keep it, and who else may see it:
Your account
- What
- The name you show, your e-mail address, your password (stored only as an irreversible hash), your picture, your language and settings, who invited you; if you sign in with Steam, the identifier and the public name of that Steam account.
- Why
- To create your account, sign you in and keep it.
- On what ground
- The contract between us: the terms of use (GDPR art. 6(1)(b)).
- How long
- As long as you keep the account; when you delete it, at once (what stays is told below).
- Who else
- Our hosting provider; Valve (Steam) only when you choose to sign in with Steam.
Security and fair play
- What
- Your IP address and your browser while you are on the site; a record of the changes made from your account (what changed, when, from which address); a code made from your network, never the address itself, that tells whether two accounts use the same connection.
- Why
- To protect the accounts and the site, to stop fake votes and rewards earned from one's own network, to look into abuse.
- On what ground
- Our legitimate interest in a site that is safe and fair (GDPR art. 6(1)(f)).
- How long
- 180 days for the record of changes; the network code 180 days after it was last seen; a session as long as it is open.
- Who else
- Cloudflare (protection), our hosting provider. The administrators see the record of changes.
Votes
- What
- Your account, the server you voted for, when, your IP address, and the nickname you say you use on that server, if you give one.
- Why
- One vote every 24 hours per account and per server, the rankings, the voters of the month of each server.
- On what ground
- The terms of use, and our legitimate interest in fair rankings.
- How long
- The IP address 30 days; the vote itself stays in the rankings, without your account if you delete it.
- Who else
- Public: your name and number of votes, while you are among the first five voters of the month on the server's page. The owner of the server sees every voter of the month, with the nickname given, and may download the list.
The players seen on the game servers
- What
- The nicknames, scores and time played that the listed game servers show publicly to anyone who asks them.
- Why
- The lists of servers, the players online, the rankings of each server, the search for a player.
- On what ground
- Our legitimate interest in showing what the servers publish anyway; a nickname is tied to a person only if that person proves it is theirs.
- How long
- As long as the server is listed. You can ask us to hide or delete a nickname that is yours.
- Who else
- Anyone visiting the page of the server: the data is public there too.
Your public profile
- What
- The names you proved, your hours, levels and badges on the servers, your showcase, the squad you are in.
- Why
- Your page as a player, only if you prove a name and keep the profile public.
- On what ground
- Your choice (the terms of use); you can hide it at any time.
- How long
- As long as you keep the profile public and the account.
- Who else
- Visitors of your profile. Profiles are kept out of search engines. A squad's page shows its members, their level and what each earned for it.
Friends, messages, reviews, reports, applications
- What
- What you write and to whom: messages to friends, reviews and reports of servers, the applications you send to a server's team (with the Discord name you add); with friends, when you are online and on which server you play.
- Why
- To deliver what you send, show what you publish, and let your friends join you.
- On what ground
- The terms of use.
- How long
- Messages and applications as long as the account; a published review stays without your name when you delete the account; the IP address of reviews and reports 180 days.
- Who else
- The people you write to; your friends see when you play, unless you hide it; the owner of the server you apply to sees your application with your hours and level there; a message you report is read by the administrators.
Server owners
- What
- The servers you claimed, their pages, alerts, events, team; the Discord webhook you set.
- Why
- To give you the tools of an owner.
- On what ground
- The terms of use.
- How long
- As long as you keep the account; a server stays listed without you when you delete it.
- Who else
- Discord, only the messages you choose to send to your channel.
Credits, XP, Premium and Pro
- What
- Your balances, the history of what you earned and spent, the invitations that brought you rewards.
- Why
- To run the site's points and the services bought with them.
- On what ground
- The terms of use.
- How long
- As long as you keep the account.
- Who else
- Nobody.
Notifications and e-mails
- What
- The messages at the bell, the device you allowed for notifications, your e-mail address.
- Why
- To tell you what concerns your account; the newsletter only if you subscribed.
- On what ground
- The terms of use; your consent for notifications on the device and for the newsletter, which you can withdraw at any time.
- How long
- As long as you keep the account, or until you unsubscribe.
- Who else
- The push service of your browser (Google, Mozilla, Apple or Microsoft).
Support
- What
- What you write through the contact page (your name, e-mail address, topic and message), and the tickets you open with the messages in them.
- Why
- To answer you.
- On what ground
- Our legitimate interest in answering whoever writes to us; the terms of use for the tickets.
- How long
- A year for the contact page's messages; the tickets as long as you keep the account.
- Who else
- The administrators who answer; the copy of a contact message goes through our own mail server.
Visits of the servers' pages
- What
- A count of visits and banner clicks for each server's owner, by day, country and where the visitors came from. No IP address and nothing that names a person is kept: only a code that changes every day. The country comes from Cloudflare or from a list of addresses kept on our server.
- Why
- To show owners how their page and their banner are doing; to suggest servers near you.
- On what ground
- Our legitimate interest; the data is anonymous.
- How long
- As long as the server is listed.
- Who else
- The owner of the server, as totals.
Your cookie choices and your requests
- What
- A random code, your choices and the date; for a request about your data, your contact details and what you asked.
- Why
- To prove what you agreed to, and to answer your requests about your data.
- On what ground
- Our legal obligation (GDPR art. 7(1) and 12).
- How long
- 1095 days for the choices, 1095 days for the requests.
- Who else
- Nobody.
3. Cookies
We use the cookies the site needs to work, and others only with your agreement. The full list, and how to change your choice, is in the cookie policy. Cookie policy
4. Who else receives data
We work with a few companies that process data for us or that you choose to use. None of them may use your data for their own purposes beyond what is said here.
- Hetzner Online GmbH — Keeps the site and its data, on our server. Where: Germany, in the European Union.
- Cloudflare, Inc. — Delivers the pages and protects the site against attacks; sees the address of every visitor and works out their country. Where: the USA and worldwide, under the EU standard contractual clauses and the EU–US Data Privacy Framework.
- Google LLC — Only for what you choose: it plays a YouTube video only after you allow it; delivers notifications in Chrome, if you allow them. Where: the USA, under the EU–US Data Privacy Framework.
- Valve Corporation (Steam) — Only if you sign in with Steam. Where: the USA.
- Discord Inc. — Only the messages a server's owner chooses to send to their own channel. Where: the USA.
- The push services of browsers (Mozilla, Apple, Microsoft) — Only if you allow notifications on a device. Where: the USA and the EU.
5. Data outside the European Union
Some of these companies are in the USA. Data goes there only under the safeguards the GDPR allows: the EU–US Data Privacy Framework, or the standard contractual clauses of the European Commission (GDPR art. 45 and 46).
6. Your rights
- Access and portability — a copy of your data, in a file you can take elsewhere (GDPR art. 15 and 20).
- Rectification — correct what is wrong; most of it you change yourself in your account (art. 16).
- Erasure — delete your data; your account can be deleted at once from its page (art. 17).
- Restriction and objection — ask us to stop using your data for a while, or object to a use based on our legitimate interest, such as a nickname of yours seen on a server (art. 18 and 21).
- Withdrawing consent — at any time, as easily as you gave it: cookie settings, notifications, newsletter (art. 7(3)).
- Complaint — to the supervisory authority: in Romania the ANSPDCP (B-dul G-ral. Gheorghe Magheru 28-30, Bucharest, www.dataprotection.ro), or the one of the country where you live.
How: from your account (Your data: download, delete, choices), with the request form, or by e-mail. We answer within one month; it is free. A request about your data
7. How we protect it
The site is served only over HTTPS, through Cloudflare. Passwords are stored as irreversible hashes. The data is kept on our own server, in Germany, and reached only by the administrators, through an admin protected by roles, where every change is recorded. Old data is forgotten by itself, every night, after the times shown above. If an incident ever puts your data at risk, we tell the authority within 72 hours and, when the risk is high, we tell you too.
8. Children
An account is for people aged 16 or older. Below that age, an account needs the agreement of a parent; if you learn that a child made one without it, write to us and we delete it.
9. Automatic decisions
The rankings, the levels of players and the "fit" shown to a server's owner for an application are calculated automatically from what the servers report. The protection against fake votes works automatically too: an address votes once a day for a server, a vote from the owner's own network does not count in the rankings, and no reward is paid for what comes from one's own network. None of them decides anything with a legal effect on you: an application is always decided by a person, and you can ask a person to look again at anything counted automatically.
10. Changes
When this policy changes, its date above changes, and a change that matters is told on the site. Older versions are kept and given on request.
